Step Up for Brain Injury Walk for Brain Injury Awareness Month

by

June is Brain Injury Awareness Month

Yesterday, we kicked off Brain Injury Awareness Month with the first Step Up for Brain Injury Walk concluding at the BC Legislature in Victoria.

It was inspiring to stand alongside survivors, families, service providers, advocates, and community leaders who came together to raise awareness about the realities of brain injury and the need for stronger support across British Columbia. A special thank you to Connect Communities, Victoria Brain Injury Society, and our guests from Port Alberni who participated in making this inaugural walk such a meaningful success.

We also want to recognize and thank the BC Royal Purple for hosting a Step Up for Brain Injury Walk in Williams Lake and helping bring awareness to communities across the province.

📢 The movement doesn’t stop today. We encourage organizations, families, workplaces, community groups, and individuals to host their own Step Up for Brain Injury Walks between now and June 30. Every conversation, every step, and every act of awareness helps shine a light on the invisible impacts of brain injury.

As the provincial organization dedicated to brain injury, the CGB / BC Brain Injury Association works to advance education, awareness, prevention, and system change. We are proud to support both the BC Consensus on Brain Injury, Mental Health and Addictions and the development of a National Strategy on Brain Injury, ensuring that survivors and families are not left behind.

💚 This work is only possible because of people who care.

If you believe in a future where every person affected by brain injury is seen, supported, and included, we invite you to become a BCBIA Charity Champion and support our work. Donate Today at https://www.canadahelps.org/…/constable-gerald-breese…/

Together, we can build awareness, strengthen supports, and create lasting change for the millions of Canadians living with the effects of brain injury.
